Because I'm Michelle's Godmother...

Because I'm Michelle's godmother, I've been blessed with watching her grow from a precious, little baby doll...

...into a wonderful, little girl with wisdom beyond her young years...

...into the amazing, young woman she is today...

...a loving wife and mother (and how can it be possible that her two daughters and a son are all teenagers now!?!) who wears many hats and does so much to make so many positive differences wherever, whenever, and to whomever she can!!!

One of the hats she wears is that of someone with her own eBay store, and I'm always trying to come up with ways to promote it for her.

She generally keeps it very active with auctions and such, and you never know what she might be selling at any given time.

When you find the time, please click here to check out what she has to offer--and do share this with your friends!

22413

Important Note:
This is a blog-entry that I'm going to be adding to throughout the day of February 24, 2013 and won't have it finished until sometime before the midnight leading into February 25, 2013, so check back for more updates throughout the day--and even in the time to come so that you'll know how I spent February 24, 2013...

Although the following birthday message is mighty cute, it isn't all there is to this blog-entry by a long-shot, so keep on scrolling down to find more...

First Update:
It's a little after ten in the morning, and I'm just starting to talk about this blog-entry and let you know how my day has gone so far.

As you've probably guessed from the graphic at the top, February 24 isn't just any old day for birthdays.

Among those having birthdays today there are included the birthdays of:

One very special friend who stole my heart over two decades ago.

Even though we've both moved on, there will always be a part of him stitched to my heart as if by strong and intricate embroidering.

Therefore, if he reads this, I want him to always know that he and I are forever friends to this day and beyond!

He'll always be my very special Johnny Angel!!!

I really wish he would join me at Facebook, as we have a lot of catching up to do from the last time we talked back in 2001.

He's one very amazing person who has made a lot of positive differences in the lives of so many people, myself included!

The other one whose birthday is also today is someone I'm simply going to identify as Don The Top Hat Crazy Man.

He was once married to one of my friends and is a real hoot!

In the near future--as in when time allows--I'm going to explain why I gave him this handle here.

It's quite a story!

I'll just say that I must have given him the impression that I was born and raised in St. Olaf, Minnesota (which really isn't such a bad thing--and I know that I'm a whole lot like Rose in certain ways and proud of it) the first time we talked--which was several years before my friend and I even knew him!

Now, if what I just wrote doesn't sound like a St. Olaf story in the making, I don't know what would!  LOL

I've discovered that, besides Johnny Angel & Crazy Don, I have several friends on FB who are also celebrating birthdays, so Happy Birthday To All Of You!!!

Anyway, I think I'm just about ready to post this.  Are we having fun yet!?! or Am I already driving you daffy!?!

Second Update:
Well, I now know what works for Michelle (my goddaughter) when it comes to running errands for me.  She's pretty flexible today, which works very well for me!

Speaking of Michelle, please check out her store at eBay, as she has a lot going on at the moment--and, more times than not, at any other time you might want to check there.

I also have an eBay store but not really active at the moment, though I hope that will be changing before long.

Anyway, I need to assemble my shopping list and get those snail mails ready to mail.

One of them is going for the purchase of a wonderful book from a very inspiring and beautiful friend, Michael Alan "Map" Pierce.  You can read more about him by clicking HERE.

On this note, I need to sign off for now, because talking about what I'm going to do isn't going to get the job done...
...

Third Update:  Talked to my mom at 7:15 instead of 7:00 because I wanted to give her the chance to see the full moon.  Actually, it won't be full until tomorrow night, but the skies might be overcast then.

It turns out that one of the windows in her room faces where the moon rises, so she got to watch it from her room--which means that we were both watching the moon together.

Michelle will be coming over a little after noon tomorrow instead of tonight--which will work out better for both of us, as she's under the weather and needs to rest, and I'm feeling extra energetic for now and need to get some things done.

However, I won't be getting anything else done until I've had the tuna noodle casserole I'm currently preparing.  Will have to share the recipe with you when I have more time.

I've just taken out the trash to be picked up in the morning--which isn't the easiest job for me to do at this time, but I get it done.

If you live out of the city limits of Anderson and are looking for garbage collection service, I can't say enough nice about Manifold Refuse

I'll have to tell you more about them in the near future, too.

On this note, it's time to sign off and fix my supper!

Fourth Update:  I think this link--while it might not say it all--says a lot.I hope you'll check out what all is behind the various links you'll find when you go there...

Fifth Update:  February 24 will soon be over, but that won't mean that I won't be in action on other days.  I'm thinking that I might do something like this tomorrow.  After all, it would have been George Harrison's birthday...

A Beautiful Legacy

On February 9, 2013,
an ambulance was hit by a black Honda,
taking the lives of two young on duty EMTs.

 Timothy McCormick (24)
(who made the inspiring video shown above) died that day,
and the other young man,
Cody Medley (22),
followed him the next day.

They should have had the chance
to live to a ripe old age--
or, at least, not die
in such a senseless way
as being hit by a drunk driver.

I don't see getting drunk
as something that's so cool
that it should be a rite-of-passage
experienced by all young people.

I also don't see it
as a means of self-comfort
to get you through
some bad times in your life.

However, I'm not going to demand
that people never take a drink
as was demanded
back in the time of Prohibition.

I'm not even going to try to get laws passed
to make getting drunk illegal.
I believe that
education
is far more effective
than legislation.

We as a nation
have got to quit giving the impression
that getting drunk
is a cool and entertaining part of life,
because it isn't!

Getting plastered to have fun
isn't a life choice that I claim for myself.
However,
I guess
it's
different strokes
for
different folks.

Also,
if you're one of those who drink
to dull the pain of
a broken heart
or
other disappointment dealt to you in life,
I believe that there are better ways
to comfort yourself.
However, I'm not going to stop you.
Instead, I'll just advise against it.

Having said this,
I believe that it should remain illegal
to drive when drunk.

If you don't get "caught" at it,
you might really think
you're getting away with something.

Getting away with DUI is VERY uncool--
and DUI isn't cool, either.
You might think that you're somebody
who can drive safely even when plastered.
NO
!!!
If you think that,
you're just deceiving yourself!

Do you really believe
that you're such a wonderful driver
even when you're 3000 sheets to the wind
that you'll never cause a tragic accident?

Even if you manage to never see
the inside of a jail cell
for more than a few hours
because you or your family is rich enough
to hire the very best lawyer for you,
you will still be
haunted by the knowledge
of the tragedy you've caused
by your decision to drive drunk.

Are you thinking about
going out and getting drunk?
Have you made any arrangements
to
either
have a designated driver along
or else
rely on public transportation
to get you back home again?

If you haven't,
it might do you good
to watch that inspiring video again
as a reminder of the tragic loss
you might end up causing
...

My Water Campaign

There are things in life that many of us take for granted with one of those being having water available for our use that isn't difficult to get to--and, even when gotten to, is so contaminated that drinking it might cause illness or even death!

Until early May, I'm going to be having a campaign to raise funds to bring about the building and maintenance of safe wells in communities that don't have what we take for granted.

This is a wonderful time to run such a campaign (though I can find plenty of good excuses to run them at other times of the year as well) because there are so many celebrations going on.

I'm calling this campaign

Ainsley Jo's Multiple-Celebration Campaign

and you can learn more about it by going here:

http://mycharitywater.org/ainsley-jos-multiple-celebration-campaign

My goal is to raise $10,000 during this time, which will make a wonderful difference to at least 500 people.

This probably sounds ambitious and unrealistic, but I don't see it that way at all.  Even if the entire amount isn't raised, there will still be enough collected to make some kind of a positive difference.

Please share this message with others!!!  Any kind of donation you're able to make will be very welcome.

We can do this!!!
